From the moment she was allowed to redecorate her childhood bedroom, Sharon O’Brien fell in love with interior design. Sharon inherited a room that had three walls painted in pea green and an accent wall papered in tiny pink and white daisies. She chose a sunny yellow paint for three walls and a geometric wallpaper in primary colors for the fourth. Mixing in Marimekko fabrics stretched on wood frames as artwork and a contemporary red clock with blue and yellow hands, sans numbers, a designer was born.
Sharon started out in Ohio as an interior designer at Draperies Plus in North Ridgeville and worked as a designer for Warner Interiors in Westlake. Sharon also served as account manager for leading wallcovering firms including Olney, Patton, and F. Schumacher and Company. In this role she traveled the state, presenting the latest designs and home fashions to designers and advised retailers on showroom display to maximize their space and profits.
After moving to Maryland, Sharon worked for six years as the Senior Interior Designer for Designing Solutions in Silver Spring. Sharon currently resides in Annapolis and designs for clients across Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia, and has clients in Arizona, Delaware, and Florida. Her passion for design is apparent in all of her work.
Sharon is an Associate Member of the Interior Design Society. She volunteers for the non-profit organization, Bello Machre, where she redesigns group homes. And for Transformations in Montgomery County where she designs apartments for youth that have aged out of the foster care system.
